Tyler Graham begins his second season with the Michigan Baseball program in a new role as Director of Hitting Development.
Graham joined the Michigan coaching staff in 2022 and servered as a Volunteer Assistant Coach and hitting instructor. Previously Graham was a private MLB hitting instructor for two years.
Prior to that, Graham served as an assistant coach for the Nashville Sounds in 2020. He got his start in coaching at his alma mater, Oregon State, where he was as an undergrad assistant in 2015 and 2016. Graham then spent three more seasons with the Beavers as their director of player development while coaching in summer leagues. With the Oregon State coaching staff, he was a part of the 2017 College World Series and the 2018 National Championship team.
Over the course of nine seasons in professional baseball, Graham accumulated 267 steals from Low A to Major League Baseball where he made his debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012. He still holds the record for most steals in a season for the Fresno Grizzles with 60. Graham was selected in the 19th round of the 2006 MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants.
Before playing professionally, Graham played 151 games as an Oregon State Beaver leading them to a national championship in 2005, his senior season along with two Pac-10 Conference titles. Over his career, Graham hit .317 with 39 steals.
Graham is originally a native of Great Falls, Mont.
