Teichert Named LPGA T&CP Coach of the Year

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- University of Michigan women's golf head coach Kathy Teichert was named the 1999 Ladies Professional Golf Association Teaching and Club Professional Coach of the Year. The LPGA Coach of the Year Award, which is presented by Spalding, is awarded annually to a woman golf professional who is actively involved in teaching and/or coaching golf at the college, university or high school levels.
"I'm very excited and honored to receive this prestigious award," said Teichert. "I would like to thank my peers at the LPGA and the University of Michigan for their support and commitment."

The Wolverines have placed in the top 10 in all five of the events they entered this past fall, including a top-five finish at the Wolverine Invitational (Oct. 9-10). Last season, Michigan placed in the top 10 in every event in which it participated, with three top-five finishes.
Now in her seventh season as Michigan's head coach, Teichert, the 1996 co-Big Ten Conference Coach of the Year, has produced a four Big Ten medalists, three All-Big Ten performers, four Academic All-Big Ten honorees and an NGCA Academic All-American.
