Senior LeAnna Wicks reflects on the third round of the NCAA Championships and her career at Michigan.
Today was the third round of the Championship and we are in a good position to move up in tomorrow's round. Currently we are tied for 15th after shooting a team total of 299 today. I shot 77 today with a three-over par on the front and two-over on the back. I started off with a solid par on hole No. 1 and a birdie on 2. I bogeyed my next two holes, but then I settled into the rest of my round. My iron game was good today -- I hit several shots within 10 feet -- but I was not able to capitalize on my putts. After working on the putting green after the round, I feel as though I will putt better tomorrow.

The weather here was beautiful today and we saw Mt. Rainer for the first time since we have arrived in Auburn. Our team just returned from a relaxing dinner at an Italian restaurant and we are going to have a meeting later tonight to prepare us for tomorrow's round. This has been one of our longest golf trips this year, but it has been an extremely rewarding trip as well. Everyone on our team has contributed to our success this year and this is an extra reward for all of our hard work.
Tomorrow will be the last collegiate round for Misia (Lemanski), Bess and me and we could not have asked for a better way to end our season than playing in the NCAA Championship along with the other top golf teams in the country. It seems as though the past four years have flown by and I cannot believe that we are only one round away from our last collegiate round of golf together. I wish my fellow seniors -- Misia, Cortney (Reno), Bess and Stephanie (Bezilla) -- luck in their future endeavors and I hope that all of my other fellow teammates enjoy their last few years of college and keep up the hard work that has brought Wolverine golf to a new level.
My dad traveled to Washington for this tournament, not to mention several other tournaments in the past years, and his continuous support has been comforting and means so much to me. Along with my dad, I would like to thank my mom and grandma for their never-ending support with my golf and for supporting me in everything I have set out to accomplish. My family means the world to me and I would not be where I am today if it were not for their love and guidance.
