Michigan Head Coach Kathy Teichert
On the Central Regional ... "It was an excellent tournament. Unfortunately we did not get the job done. It is an excellent venue for hosting a tournament. For us to be able host it made it even more special. We really ran a first class event. It was great for our players. It was great for our program. It was great for our fans. It was bittersweet to end the season at home. Our goal was to finish and to move on and that did not happen. But we cannot hang our heads too low. We battled, but it just wasn't meant to be. But we did make it here and that speaks a lot about these girls."
On the seniors Brianna Broderick and Ali Stinson ... "They have gone out and given it everything they had from the get go. Today they struggled. It was disappointing because we really wanted to extend their careers for one more tournament. I'm sad I will miss them. There great young ladies and they are just fantastic. They, Ali and Bri, have been there every step of the way. They have added another dimension to the team. When you look back on there careers there two of the nicest, hard working, classiest young ladies you can have in a program. They gave there heart and soul to Michigan.
On the future of the program ... "The freshmen, Ashley and Andrea, have been great all season. They had there ups and downs but they have helped us get to where we are today. These girls have shown a lot of fight and I look for it next year and into the future. I look forward to the next chapter of the program. A lot of the girls stayed back and wished they were playing this week but unfortunately not all the girls can play and compete. The future of Michigan women's golf looks bright."
Senior Brianna Broderick
On her final round played and her career at Michigan ... "It is sad going out like this. It's been nice. I had a great career here and I enjoyed every minute of it."
On the tournament and the underclassmen ... "The tournament was disappointing for us but I think the girl's have a lot of potential. I think there is going to be a lot to come from them. I'll be excited to watch."
On her fellow senior class members ... "It has been a pleasure spending four years with them. I could not have asked for better teammates and I hope we keep in touch."
Senior Ali Stinson
On playing her final collegiate round ... "It was really nice to play my home course my final round. We wished we could have done better at the regional, but it just wasn't in the cards. I am really glad to come to Michigan. It definitely was the right choice for me. It's really hard to sum up four years. I was just a wonderful time."
On this 2006-07 season ... "We had a lot of good moments. It was a little up and down at times but, there is a lot of good potential with the younger girls on the team. There is a bright future for this program. I was glad to be a part of it."
On the progress of the program and the underclassmen taking the reins ... "There is a lot of potential. They got a lot of experience this year. Hopefully they will come out strong next year and continue to progress and compete hard in the Big Ten and on the national level. This program is in fine shape."
Freshman Ashley Bauer
On the team and her play at the Central Regional ... "It was very disappointing as a team and individually. We had some goals and were not able to reach them. But we had a successful season. This regional was a great experience for me and this team. I have a few more years. I am just going to take these experiences and use them in the future. A lot of good will come from this."
On her thoughts from her first collegiate season ... "It was great. I had a lot of expectations and I feel like I fulfilled many of them. Both the coaches were great all season long and I really had a great experience. I have three years remaining, so I have plenty to accomplish and do."
On the senior class ... "There going to be missed a lot. Ali and Brianna stepped up a lot. I look up to them in different ways there great people and Im going to miss them."
On if she feels that the torch has been passed to her ... "I think each one of us is leaders on this team. I would like to think that I am one of those players. Bri and Ali really showed me and taught me a lot this season. I'm looking forward to next season and trying my best to a leader of this program."
