ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- With heavy rain and thunderstorms in the local forecast all day Friday (April 3), the University of Michigan baseball team has moved the series opener against Penn State to Saturday (April 4), creating a doubleheader beginning at 12:05 pm. Should weather continue to be an issue, Monday (April 6) will be used as a rain date to complete the three-game set.
Michigan and Penn State will be meeting for the 74th time when they square off in game one Saturday, with the Wolverines trailing in the all-time series 33-40. U-M was 3-1 last season against PSU and will send staff ace Chris Fetter(Carmel, Ind./Carmel) to the hill in the opener.
Friday's game was to be televised live by the Big Ten Network, but due to scheduling conflicts the network will be unable to carry the Saturday make-up game.
Game tickets for Friday's game will be honored Saturday.
