ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's lacrosse team led by as many as three goals early in the fourth quarter before falling to the Marist Red Foxes, 7-6 in overtime, Wednesday (March 23) inside a rainy Michigan Stadium. Senior midfielder Mike Hernandez scored two goals and freshman Rocco Sutherland added one goal and two assists to lead the Wolverines offensively, while senior/junior Gerald Logan made 14 saves in goal.

After nine minutes of solid defense on both ends, senior Evan Glaser netted a goal under the top crossbar with 41 seconds remaining in the half, giving the Wolverines a 3-2 lead heading into the break.
Michigan opened up the second half with two more goals from Sutherland and Hernandez to extend its lead to 5-2. Led by Logan, who had three saves in the quarter, the defense shut out the Red Foxes in the third stanza as well.

Marist then went on a 3-0 run to close out regulation and tied the score at 6-6. After both teams missed opportunities to score again with under two minutes to play, the game headed to overtime.
In overtime, Marist's Gannon Morrison notched the game-winner at 2:26 of the extra session, scoring on a feed from JD Recor to secure the Red Foxes the victory.
