DAVIS, Calif. -- The University of Michigan baseball team's doubleheader at UC Davis on Saturday (March 5) has been cancelled due to field conditions and continued bad weather in the area. The doubleheader was originally postponed from Friday (March 4).
On Friday, the Wolverines and Aggies were in the bottom of the second inning when the rain began, and has just begun the top of the third when the weather became too much to play. After an hour rain delay, the game was called and moved to Saturday. The score was tied 0-0 in the top of the third.
However, field conditions and inclement weather on Saturday forced the cancellation of the games. The two teams will not meet again this season to make them up.
Michigan will return to action with a single game on Thursday, March 10, when the Wolverines kick off a four-game series at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, Hawaii. First pitch for Thursday's contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. HST.
