ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 25-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (2-1) returns to Crisler Center on Wednesday (Nov. 22), to host Oakland (2-2) at 7 p.m. The game is part of Michigan's season-long "Workweek Hustle" promotion, where fans can get a ticket, hot dog and drink for $5 to all weekday day games. • Senior Jillian Dunston continues to do the little things for Michigan, averaging 9.0 rebounds in 30.3 minutes per game. She is up to 592 rebounds, eight away from becoming the 15th Wolverine with 600 boards in a career. Dunston also recorded the third game of her career with at least five steals after swiping five against Louisville (Nov. 16). She has 109 for her career, 12 shy of entering the top 25 in program history.Â
• For the first time since her freshman year, junior Nicole Munger has been inserted in the starting lineup. Known in the past for her offense off the bench, Munger has adjusted well to the starting role. The junior has reached double figures in two games and is second on the team with five three-pointers made. She is averaging 10.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 33.3 minutes per game.
• Freshman Hailey Brown has started all three games and made her presence felt. She has two double-figure scoring games and a double-figure rebounding game already. In her collegiate debut, she grabbed 10 rebounds to go with four points and two steals in 29 minutes. She followed that up with 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks in 23 minutes against Liberty. Brown put up 10 points with three rebounds and two steals at Louisville (Nov. 16), moving her season averages to 8.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. She is 10th among B1G freshmen in scoring and third in rebounding.
• Oakland enters the game after a 67-59 win over Niagara on Sunday (Nov. 19). The Golden Grizzlies are averaging 66.0 points per game on 37.5 percent shooting. OU features five players scoring in double figures in Sha'Keya Graves (12.8 ppg), Taylor Jones (12.5 ppg), Taylor Gleason (11.0 ppg), Leah Somerfield (10.8 ppg) and Cierra Bond (10.0 ppg). Prior to last year's meeting -- a 101-63 Michigan win -- the two teams had not played since Dec. 28, 2004.
• Michigan had six players in double figures, led by 23 points from Katelynn Flaherty as U-M knocked off Oakland, 101-63, to start the 2016-17 season in the last meeting between the two teams. Michigan shot 57.8 percent from the field in the game while holding Oakland to 35.3 percent shooting. Michigan never trailed in the contest, jumping out to a 6-0 lead to start the game. Oakland tied the game one time at 6, but Michigan went on a 15-2 run to go up, 21-8, on a pair of free throws. U-M led by as many as 39 points in the game.
