
Wolverines Welcome Delaware State to Conclude Non-Conference Play

» Michigan is wrapping up the non-conference portion of its schedule against Delaware State, the sixth first-time opponent for the Maize and Blue this season.
» Jillian Dunston needs 14 more rebounds to become the 11th Wolverine to grab 700 in a career. Dunston has grabbed at least 10 boards in four of Michigan's last five games, pushing her average to double digits (10.1 rpg) for the first time in her career.
» U-M has reached 10 wins in the non-conference for the fifth time in school history and third time in the last six seasons.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 23-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (10-2) wraps up the non-conference portion of its season on Thursday (Dec. 21), hosting Delaware State (1-8) at Crisler Center. Tip is set for 3:30 p.m. and is part of Michigan's season-long Workweek Hustle promotion -- $5 for a ticket, hot dog and drink.
• Michigan has ripped off six straight wins in the month of December, starting with an 86-49 win at LIU Brooklyn on Dec. 2. Michigan has turned it up on both ends this month, averaging 77.3 points per game on 51.0 percent shooting while yielding just 49.2 points per game on 31.8 percent shooting. The Wolverines have four players scoring in double figures in Katelynn Flaherty (20.2), Hallie Thome (14.5), Nicole Munger (11.7) and Deja Church (10.8) in December.
• Michigan has held its opponents to single digits in eight of the last 24 quarters of play after limiting Fort Wayne to just two points in the first quarter on Saturday (Dec. 16). U-M has held five of its last six opponents to 50 points or fewer.
• For just the fifth time in program history, U-M has won at least 10 games during the non-conference portion of its schedule. Michigan has accomplished the feat three times under sixth-year head coach Kim Barnes Arico -- 2012-13, 2016-17, 2017-18.
• Delaware State is one of six first-time opponents for the Wolverines during their 13-game non-conference schedule. In addition to the Hornets, U-M played George Mason, Liberty, LIU Brooklyn, North Florida and Fort Wayne for the first time. The Wolverines are 5-0 against first-time foes this season.
• Delaware State (1-8) comes to Michigan after a 71-48 loss to LaSalle on Dec. 17. The Hornets are scoring 55.7 points per game, led by NaJai Pollard's 17.6 and Lanayjha Ashe's 10.1 points per game. The Hornets are allowing 82.9 points per game to their opponents. It is the first meeting between the two schools.
• Senior Jillian Dunston has continued to do it all for the Wolverines, averaging a team-high 10.1 rebounds, 3.5 points and 3.5 assists per game. It is the first time in her career that her rebounding average has reached double figures. She has seven games this season with at least 10 rebounds and is up to 13th all-time in program history with 686 rebounds. Dunston is 14 rebounds away from becoming the 11th Wolverine to reach 700 rebounds. Dunston has 126 for her career, putting her 22nd in program history. Dunston leads Michigan in rebounding, steals (23), assists (42) and is second in minutes played (32.9/game). She will also celebrate her 22nd birthday when the Wolverines take on Delaware State.
