U-M Completes Opening-Week Action at Big 5 Challenge

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The University of Michigan women's tennis team kicked off its fall tennis campaign at the Big 5 Challenge at Texas Christian University, completing the three-day invitational on Sunday (Sept. 24).
Junior Kate Fahey and freshman Bella Lorenzini each picked up three singles wins at the event to lead the Maize and Blue on the singles court. Sophomores Chiara Lommer and Lera Patiuk each grabbed a win on the singles court as U-M began fall play this weekend.
On the doubles side, U-M went 4-0 over the final two days to finish with six victories on the doubles court. Lorenzini and Lommer each grabbed three wins in doubles to pace the Maize and Blue.
U-M continues fall tennis action next weekend (Sept. 29-Oct. 1) at the Wildcat Invitational at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
