
No. 23 Michigan to Welcome Indiana to Complete Homestand

» No. 23 Michigan will complete a two-game homestand by hosting Indiana for the lone meeting between the two teams this season. U-M and IU split the season series last year, each winning at home.
» Senior Katelynn Flaherty is 34 points away from tying Glen Rice's men's basketball scoring record of 2,442 points. Flaherty can become the all-time leading scorer in Michigan history -- man or woman.
» The Wolverines remained in the Associated Press poll this week, coming in at No. 23 to set a new program record for consecutive appearances (10).

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 23-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (13-4, 2-2 B1G) will complete a two-game homestand on Wednesday (Jan. 10) when they host Indiana (8-9, 1-3 B1G) inside Crisler Center at 7 p.m. The game is part of Michigan's "Workweek Hustle" promotion where fans can get a ticket, hot dog and drink for $5.
• Junior Hallie Thome was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll for the second time this season after a pair of 20-point games this past week. Thome opened the week with 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting to go along with five boards and three blocks in just 25 minutes in a win at Wisconsin. She followed that up with 27 points on 12-for-20 shooting against No. 10 Ohio State, while also recording eight rebounds and two blocks in 44 minutes.
• Michigan has held its opponents to single digits in 12 quarters this season after allowing just six points to Ohio State in the second quarter on Sunday (Jan. 7). U-M has held six opponents to 50 points or less. Michigan is second in the Big Ten in scoring defense at 59.7 points per game. U-M joins Rutgers as the only two teams to hold opponents under 60 points on the season.
• Freshman Hailey Brown has quietly put together a solid first year in Ann Arbor. She has started all 17 games this year, averaging 7.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 23.1 minutes per game. She has a double-double to her credit this season and is just the second freshman under sixth-year head coach Kim Barnes Arico to be a full-time starter -- joining Hallie Thome (2015-16).
• Indiana (8-9, 1-3 Big Ten) snapped a three-game skid last time out, defeating Purdue (72-54) at home on Saturday (Jan. 6). IU features three double-figure scorers in Tyra Buss (20.5), Amanda Cahill (13.5) and Kym Royster (11.8). The Hoosiers are scoring 67.8 points per game on 43.2 percent shooting while allowing 67.7 points per contest on 42.7 percent shooting. U-M and IU split the season series last year, with each team winning at home.
• Senior Jillian Dunston has continued to do it all for the Wolverines, averaging a team-high 9.9 rebounds, 3.5 points and 3.8 assists per game. Dunston is leading the Big Ten and is seventh nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio at 3.42. She has 11 games this season with at least 10 rebounds and is up to 10th all-time in program history with 733 rebounds. She is five away from passing Nicole Elmblad's ninth-place total of 738.
