The No. 24-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team (11-9, 7-1 B1G) completes a four-match homestand this weekend, hosting Maryland (9-9, 3-4 B1G) on Saturday (April 14) and Rutgers (5-11, 0-7 B1G) on Sunday (April 15). Both matches start at noon and admission is free. The senior class of Kara Hall and Mira Ruder-Hook will be honored prior to Sunday's match as part of Senior Day.
WOLVERINE BITES
• No. 24 Michigan stayed in the top 25 for the second consecutive week after splitting matches against then-No. 11 Illinois and then-No. 13 Northwestern last weekend. In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, Michigan has faced No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Georgia Tech, No. 4 Duke, No. 5 Texas, No. 12 Northwestern, No. 14 Illinois, No. 17 Kansas, No. 19 Auburn, No. 21 Virginia and No. 25 Baylor this season.
• Seniors Kara Hall and Mira Ruder-Hook will be honored prior to Sunday's (April 15) match against Rutgers. Hall is serving as team captain this year and has won 17 singles matches. She has 20 wins on the doubles court, including the clinching win for the doubles point in U-M's 4-3 win over Miami in the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2016 (May 19), sending Michigan to the quarterfinals. Ruder-Hook earned All-America honors on the doubles court in 2016, where she has racked up 98 wins. In singles, she is up to 80 wins as one of 19 Wolverines to hit that mark. Both Ruder-Hook and Hall have earned multiple Academic All-Big Ten honors.
• Junior Kate Fahey is 22-7 on the season, moving her career record to 89-22 (.802). She is one victory away from becoming the 11th Wolverine in school history to reach 90 career wins, ranking 12th all-time in singles wins. Fahey is the only player in program history to feature a winning percentage of at least .800.
• Sophomore Chiara Lommer is the owner of Michigan's longest singles win streak, winning her last eight singles matches. Freshman Alyvia Jones is right behind her on a five-match tear, with junior Brienne Minor winning her last three singles matches.
• Head coach Ronni Bernstein is closing in on career victory No. 400, entering this weekend with 399 victories. Bernstein, who is in her 11th season at Michigan, is 234-70 (.770) in Ann Arbor.
• Michigan is finishing out the home portion of its season this weekend at the Varsity Tennis Center. U-M is 5-2 at home this season, with both losses coming to ranked teams.

• In the latest (April 10) singles rankings, Kate Fahey comes in at No. 29 and Chiara Lommer is at No. 90. The doubles pair of Brienne Minor and Mira Ruder-Hook is in the doubles rankings for the fourth straight week, earning a No. 79 ranking.
• Maryland (9-9, 3-4 B1G) knocked off Iowa and Nebraska last weekend in College Park, Maryland, ending a streak of four losses in five matches. The Terps have a ranked doubles team in No. 76 Millie Stretton and Eva Alexandrova. Michigan is 8-0 all-time against Maryland.
• Rutgers (5-11, 0-7 B1G) has lost seven straight after Big Ten play started, including a pair of 5-2 losses to Nebraska and Iowa last weekend. Michigan is 3-0 all-time against the Scarlet Knights. Â
NCAA RULES
Each team match will be a contest for the best of seven team points. Doubles action will begin immediately with no warmup, so fans are encouraged to arrive on time for matches. In addition, each doubles match will be one set to six, with a tiebreaker occurring at 6-all. The team that wins two-of-three matches will secure the doubles point. Following a five-minute intermission, singles action will begin with each match worth one point towards the team score. There will be no-ad scoring in both singles and doubles action. In addition, there is to be no noise made between first and second serves this season as part of new ITA sportsmanship guidelines.
WEATHER POLICY
Matches shall be played outdoors unless the projected weather forecast, for a minimum of two hours out of a four-hour time period from the start of the match, according to weather.com is: a high temperature of less than 50 degrees or sustained winds (not including wind gusts) of more than 20 mph.
