ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Junior Brent Noseworthy of the University of Michigan men's lacrosse team has been named the first All-Big Ten first-team honoree in program history, the conference announced Tuesday (May 1).
Noseworthy set the Michigan single-season record for points (48) and goals (41) while also leading the team in shots (102) and man-up goals (4). He leads the Big Ten and is fifth nationally in goals per game (2.93), and he ranks fourth in the league in points per game (3.43). His shooting percentage of 41 checks in at No. 4 in the conference, while his four man-up scores are third in the league.
The Tewaaraton Watch List honoree was also named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and earned a spot on the USILA National Team of the Week following his five-goal, one-assist performance in U-M's 13-12 upset win at No. 4 Notre Dame (March 21.) In all, he scored eight hat tricks on the season, had 10 multi-goal games, and finished the campaign having scored a point in each of his last 28 games dating back to last season.
The Burlington, Ontario, native is third among midfielders in the NCAA in goals and is the only player in the NCAA to have taken at least 15 faceoffs and have scored 40 goals. According to AnalyticsLacrosse.com, he ranks as the No. 31 player and is No. 4 in the country in assisted goals (28).
Noseworthy is the second first team all-conference selection in school history, as Kyle Jackson earned All-ECAC honors in 2014.
In addition, senior defensive midfielder Parker McKee earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship honor. A 2018 team captain, McKee played in 52 games in his career.
Although lacrosse season is over for the Wolverines, Michigan will host both the men's (May 3 & 5) and women's (May 4 & 6) Big Ten Tournaments at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. Tickets are available online at MGoBlue.com/tickets.
