Update (Saturday, April 20, 3:35 p.m.): Due to weather conditions, the start time for the Michigan-Northwestern game Saturday (April 20) has been pushed back to 5 p.m.
Update (Friday, April 19, 1:20 p.m.): Due to weather conditions, the Michigan-Northwestern game Friday (April 19) has been postponed. The game will be made up as part of a Sunday (April 21) doubleheader starting at noon. The teams will now begin their three-game series on Saturday with their regularly scheduled 2 p.m. start.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team (25-11, 5-3 Big Ten) will continue its seven-game homestand this weekend with a Big Ten Conference series against Northwestern (16-17, 5-4 Big Ten). With Friday's (April 19) game postponed by weather, the revised schedule has the teams playing a single game Saturday (April 20) at 5 p.m. followed by a noon doubleheader Sunday (April 21) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium.
• The Wolverines and the Wildcats have played 161 times in program history, with Michigan leading the all-time series with Northwestern, 124-37. The Maize and Blue swept their three-game series in 2018.
• Friday's game will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network with Kevin Kugler and Danan Hughes on the call.
• Michigan's seven-game homestand started with Wednesday's (April 17) 10-5 midweek win over Bowling Green and continues with back-to-back home Big Ten Conference series against Northwestern April 19-21) and Rutgers (April 26-28). The Wolverines are 13-2 when playing at home this season.Â
• When playing at Ray Fisher Stadium this year, the Maize and Blue offense has combined for a .326 batting average and has outscored opponents by 83 runs. The Michigan pitching staff has held opponents to a .220 average and combined for a 2.69 earned-run average when inside the Wilpon Complex.
• Michigan is in third place in the Big Ten Conference with a 5-3 record, but leads the league with the highest overall win percentage (.694). The Wolverines suffered their first Big Ten series loss at the hands of Ohio State last weekend (April 12-13) after picking up series wins over Michigan State and Minnesota to start the conference portion of the schedule. Michigan was picked by the league's coaches to finish second in the Big Ten this season.
• Sophomore Jesse Franklin knocked his 10th homer of the season in Friday's (April 12) series opener at Ohio State, tying his freshman season total for home runs. His 10 homers on the season rank third in the Big Ten and 30th in the country. He also leads the Big Ten with 28 walks.
• Junior-college transfer Jordan Brewer recently extended his reached-base streak to 26 games with a base hit in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader at Ohio State (April 13). The outfielder did not play in the final game of the series, nor did he play Wednesday (April 17) in Michigan's win over Bowling Green.
• Four Wolverines are hitting above the .300 mark, including junior Jordan Brewer (.364), senior Blake Nelson (.347), sophomore Jordan Nwogu (.337) and sophomore Jack Blomgren (.317). Brewer ranks fourth in the Big Ten and in the top-50 in the nation with a .651 slugging percentage. He also ranks second in the conference in RBI (35) and runs scored (35).
• Offensively, Michigan leads the Big Ten in batting average (.289), on-base percentage (.387) and doubles (82). The Wolverine offense also ranks in the top three among conference opponents in total hits, runs, walks, home runs, stolen bases, sacrifice flyouts and slugging percentage.
• The Wolverines' 3.38 earned-run average ranks second in the Big Ten Conference and 20th in the nation. The pitching staff also has combined for a conference-best six shutouts, which ranks tied for fourth in the country.
• Michigan dropped out of the national polls once again following a 2-3 record last week with losses to Indiana State and Ohio State. The Wolverines have been ranked or receiving votes each week dating back to the preseason rankings.
