ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 21 University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (10-5, 2-3 B1G) will conclude its 2022 regular season Saturday (April 30) when it hosts No. 4 Maryland (14-1, 5-0 B1G) at U-M Lacrosse Stadium at noon. The game is set to air live on ESPNU.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan will honor the careers of its eight seniors and three fifth-year seniors this Saturday following its game against Maryland. The 2022 senior class includes Claire Galvin, Erin Garvey, Julia Henry, Hailey Mead, Kaitlyn Mead, Kelly Poole, Kaley Thompson and Morgan Whitaker. The Wolverines will also recognize fifth-year seniors Katherine Galzerano, Caitlin Muir and Arielle Weissman.
• Graduate senior Arielle Weissman was named a 2022 Tewaaraton Nominee. The senior goalie is just the third Wolverine in the history of the program to earn the honor as Molly Garrett was named to the list in 2021 and Mira Shane earned the honor in 2019. This season Weissman has 117 saves and carries a .522 save percentage.
• Freshman Julia Schwabe notched Big Ten weekly honors for the second time in her career as she was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week after her performance at Penn State. Schwabe netted the first two goals of the game in Michigan's 8-7 overtime victory against the Nittany Lions.
• Senior Kaitlyn Mead won nine draw controls against No. 17 USC, which ranks second in Michigan women's lacrosse single-game history and is the most since Maggie Kane had 10 draw control wins in 2018. This season, Mead leads the U-M draw with 57 wins and has six games with five or more draw wins.
• Senior Kaley Thompson has recorded at least two goals in 11 of Michigan's 15 games this season, including a hat trick on five occasions.

Michigan trails the all-time series 0-8
The Wolverines will be looking for their first-ever win over Maryland. The Terrapins come into Saturday's contest as the No. 4-ranked team in the nation with a 14-1 overall record and a 5-0 record in the Big Ten Conference. With its win over then-No. 2 Northwestern, UMD clinched a share of the 2022 Big Ten regular-season title.
Maryland ranks third nationally with an 8.57 scoring margin, outscoring opponents 240-114 this season. Aurora Cordingley paces the high-powered Terrapins, ranking 13th nationally with 54 goals this season and adding 38 assists for 92 points, which ranks fifth in the NCAA. UMD also has three other offensive players with 40 or more points -- Hannah Leubecker has 51 points (43 goals, 8 assists), Libby May has 49 points (42 goals, 7 assists) and Eloise Clevenger has 40 points (20 goals, 20 assists).
On the draw, Shaylan Ahearn has a team-best 69 wins and Abby Bosco has won 62 draw controls this season. Bosco leads the defensive side of the ball with a team-high 30 caused turnovers and 47 ground balls, while Emily Sterling has made 128 saves and has a .564 save percentage in the cage.
