The No. 7-ranked University of Michigan water polo team (20-8) will face off against No. 22 Brown and No. 21 Princeton on Saturday (April 9) and No. 19 Harvard and Saint Francis on Sunday (April 10) to wrap up regular season play.
Team Notes
• Michigan is currently undefeated in conference play (8-0) after collecting victories over Harvard, Bucknell, Mount St. Mary's, Princeton, Brown, and Saint Francis, earlier in the season.
• Throughout the CWPA, Maddie O'Reilly and Kayla Barone are first and second in goals scored with 58 and 42, respectively.
• Michigan holds the top five spots for most assists, led by O'Reilly with 50. Maddy Steere holds the second spot, with Kata Utassy third, Barone fourth, and Ava Morrant fifth.
• Alex Brown and Sophie Jackson are ranked first and second for most saves in the CWPA with 174 and 103, respectively.
• Nationally, O'Reilly is ranked fifth in assists and eighth in total points with 108.
Opponent Previews
Brown: Brown is currently 21-10 overall and 5-2 in conference play. Zoe King leads the team in goals with 32 and in steals with 34. Katie Klein leads the team in assists with 22. Between the pipes, Shauna Franke leads the team in saves with 96, and Marley Presiado has collected 96 saves. The Bears are ranked 22nd in the latest top-25 poll.
Princeton: The No. 21-ranked Tigers are currently 18-7 overall and 7-2 in conference play. Jovana Sekulic leads the team in goals with 58, while Rachael Carver leads the team in assists with 34. Defensively, Kayla Yelensky and Grace Houlahan lead the team in steals with 27. In goal, Isabela Zaller has started all 22 games for the Tigers and has collected 151 saves, allowing 210 goals.
Harvard: Harvard is currently 17-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play with a No. 19 national ranking. In Harvard's last game, junior goalie Zoe Banks made 10 saves on 18 shots faced to secure the victory. Junior Jaiden Miller netted three goals to lead the Harvard attack. Sophomore Brooke Hourigan scored twice while adding an assist and steal. Senior Inde Halligan paced the unit with three steals while junior Evan Tingler led the way with two assists.
Saint Francis: The Red Flash are currently 9-16 overall, and 2-6 in conference play. In Saint Francis' latest win, they defeated Austin 13-7 with Addison Williams leading the Red Flash with five goals, and Kayla Rhoads was just behind with three goals. Taylor Halbauer had two goals with Emese Szucs, Abbie Carter and Rebecca Pendleton all tallying one goal while Grace Raquel collected 13 saves.
