
Wolverines Topple Crimson Behind Boehm's Nine-Point Outburst

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Junior Michael Boehm tallied nine points, while classmate Shane Carr made 17 saves as the University of Michigan men's lacrosse team outscored Harvard 10-4 in the second half en route to a 19-13 win over the Crimson on Saturday (March 11) at Jordan Field. The win is U-M's first on Harvard's home field since 2019.
Boehm equaled his career high with five goals and four assists for nine points, while sophomore Ryan Cohen added a career-best seven points (4G, 3A). Junior Isaac Aronson had three scores on only five shots.
Carr earned his first start since Feb. 18 and made 17 stops in cage against 13 goals allowed (57 percent), highlighted by 10 stops in the second half. Graduate faceoff man Nick Rowlett won 13-of-18 draws (72 percent) to go along with 11 ground-ball pickups.
U-M trailed 9-3 halfway through the second quarter, and closed the game on a 16-4 extended run over the final 34:17 of the contest.
Michigan (4-2) got on the board first, with Boehm notching his first of three first-half scores at the 13:22 mark of the opening quarter. The teams then traded goals until the 4:37 mark of the first, when Harvard went on a 7-0 run to build a 9-3 lead at the 8:44 mark of the second quarter.
Michigan then closed the half on a 5-0 over the final 7:18 of the half as the contest sat tied at 9 at the intermission. U-M carried momentum into the intermission as Cohen scored on a deflected shot with one second to play in the second quarter.

Harvard (3-2) retook the lead 3:07 into the third quarter, but U-M outscored the Crimson 6-1 the rest of the quarter to carry a 15-11 lead into the fourth. The third-quarter surge was led by two tallies from graduate student Peter Thompson at 5:45 and 4:13, while Aronosn cashed in his third marker at 1:36.
U-M carried a 4-0 run into the fourth that was ended by a Harvard score at 10:55 to make the score 16-12, but the Wolverines outpaced the Crimson 3-1 the rest of the way to cement the 19-13 victory.
The result concludes a three-game road trip for the Wolverines with a 2-1 record. U-M next heads home to play host to No. 2-ranked Notre Dame next Saturday (March 18). Opening faceoff from U-M Lacrosse Stadium is slated for 1 p.m., and the contest will be streamed live on B1G+.
