
Wolverine Trio Named USILA Honorable Mention All-American

SPARKS, Md. -- USA Lacrosse Magazine has tabbed University of Michigan men's lacrosse senior Josh Zawada and juniors Michael Boehm and Justin Wietfeldt honorable mention All-Americans, the publication announced Tuesday (May 10).
Zawada, a Tewaaraton Award nominee, is second on the team with 32 tallies and 36th nationally in points-per-game (4.00). The owner of six hat tricks on the season, he also boasts at least one point in 47 consecutive games.
Boehm leads the team in points with 67 and goals with 42, ranking 24th nationally with 4.47 points-per-game. The reigning Big Ten Tournament MVP, he is on the brink of becoming the second Wolverine ever to eclipse 100 goals in a career as he enters the NCAA Tournament with 96 career markers.
Wietfeldt enters the NCAA Tournament as the top-ranked faceoff man in the country, winning 66 percent of his draws (130-of-197), and has picked up 79 ground balls. A key part of the top-ranked faceoff duo in the country, Wietfeldt has won at least 50 percent of faceoffs in 13-of-15 contests on the year.
The trio will lead the Wolverines into their first-ever NCAA Tournament contest against eighth-seeded Cornell on Sunday (May 14) at 2:30 p.m. in Ithaca, N.Y.
