• The Wolverines are undefeated at home so far this season, outscoring opponents 15-1 while in Ann Arbor. Among its home wins, Michigan owns a pair against ranked opponents, beating No. 18 Old Dominion 1-0 (Sept. 3) and No. 10 Saint Joseph's 2-0 (Sept. 10).
• Eleven different Wolverine players have scored at least one goal this season, including three different goal scorers in last Sunday's 3-1 win against Kent State (Sept. 17). Freshman Kelsey Reviello leads U-M with four goals, while seven Wolverines own multiple goals already this fall. Michigan has outscored its opposition 21-11 through eight games.
• Reviello has been on a tear of late, scoring goals in each of the last four games. She had a hand in all three goals at Kent State, including an assist on senior Lora Clarke's first-quarter marker. Clarke, who assisted on Reviello's goal, leads the team in points (10) with two goals and six assists so far this season.
• Newcomers have accounted for nearly half (10-of-21) of the Wolverines' goals this season. Reviello leads U-M, while fellow freshman Esmée de Willigen and graduate student Isabella Palde own two apiece.
• Senior Anouk Veen returned to the field in Sunday's game at Kent State after missing six games with injury. Veen, a 2021 All-American, previously scored in the Wolverines' season opener at UNC (Aug. 25).
• Iowa is 8-0 this season and is coming off two wins at home, beating Vermont 5-0 last Friday (Sept. 15) and Merrimack College 8-0 on Sunday (Sept. 17). Dionne van Aalsum leads the Hawkeyes with 21 goals and four assists, while goalkeeper Mia Magnotta owns a .375 goals-against average and .833 save percentage. Iowa carries a 44-32-0 advantage in the all-time series against Michigan, but the Wolverines have won four straight meetings, including three shutout wins last season -- 2-0, 1-0, 3-0.
• Junior Abby Tamer will redshirt the 2023 season to train and compete with the USA Field Hockey Women's National Team in its bid to qualify for the 2024 Olympics. Tamer, a 2022 NFHCA All-West Region second team honoree who has accumulated 13 goals and nine assists over 39 games played and two seasons at Michigan, earned her first senior-level international cap and goal in June.
