
Maize and Blue Set for Saturday's Live in Lou Classic

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 15-ranked University of Michigan men's cross country team will remain on the road, heading for Louisville, Ky., for Live in Lou Classic on Saturday (Oct. 5) at 9:30 a.m. at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.
Notes
• The Wolverines jumped 11 spots in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 15 in the week two poll. Michigan remains ranked No. 4 in the Great Lakes Region, behind Notre Dame, Butler, and Big Ten foe Wisconsin.
• U-M had a strong meet at the Nuttycombe Invitational hosted by Wisconsin on Sept. 27, finishing sixth with 262 points.
• Caleb Jarema was the lead runner in maize and blue, finishing 20th with a personal-best time of 23:54.2. Jarema was named the Big Ten Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Wednesday (Oct. 2) for his performance.
• Nathan Lopez was the next Wolverine to cross the finish line, coming in 42nd (24:08.9), while Luke Venhuizen finished 57th (24:15.6), and Trent McFarland finished 59th (24:16.4). Both Lopez and Venhuizen ran personal bests.
• Peter Baracco and Owen MacKenzie will be in the lineup for the first time this season, with Marcus Reilly set to make his debut for the Maize and Blue.
• Michigan will remain on the road next weekend, splitting between the Bradley Pink Classic on Oct. 18 and the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals on Oct. 19.
