
U-M to Travel to No. 10 Ohio State for Non-Conference Finale

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 5-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team (19-3) will hit the road for the final time in the regular season, heading to Columbus to face No. 10-ranked Ohio State (16-2) in a non-conference match on Wednesday (April 16) at 4 p.m. inside Ty Tucker Tennis Center.

• Michigan wraps up the non-conference portion of the season with a midweek match at No. 10 Ohio State. U-M is 7-3 in non-conference action this season.
• U-M picked up a 4-3 win over Ohio State when the teams met as conference opponents in Ann Arbor on March 15. OSU won the first three points before Michigan ripped off four straight singles wins from Jessica Bernales, Emily Sartz-Lunde, Lily Jones and Julia Fliegner.Â
• The Wolverines have won seven straight doubles points, last dropping the first point of the match at No. 24 UCLA (March 22). U-M dropped the doubles point to Ohio State when the teams played in Ann Arbor earlier this season.
• U-M is 7-2 in true road matches this season. This will be the sixth time that Michigan will face a ranked opponent on the road.Â
• Michigan enters the match on a 13-match winning streak, with Ohio State on an eight-match streak. OSU's last loss was the aforementioned match to U-M at the Varsity Tennis Center. They are the two longest active streaks in the Big Ten.
• U-M has four ranked singles players in Fliegner (No. 3), Piper Charney (No. 35), Jones (No. 41) and Sartz-Lunde (No. 75). Jones and Bernales come in at No. 23 as a doubles pair, with Bernales and Charney teaming up to be ranked No. 29.
• Fliegner is up to 107 singles wins in her illustrious career, putting her eighth all-time at U-M in career victories.
• As a team, Michigan is 72-20 in singles action during dual matches. Charney leads the way with 15 wins, with four other Wolverines in double figures. Charney is one win away from her second straight 30-win season. There have been six Wolverines in program history with multiple 30-win seasons - Kate Fahey (3), Emina Bektas (3), Brienne Minor (3), Sarah Lee (3), Ronit Yurovsky (2) and Denise Muresan (2).
• Head coach Ronni Bernstein is in her 18th season as the head coach, holding a 542-195 overall coaching record. She is currently eighth nationally among active coaches in wins. Bernstein ranks 18th all-time in victories.
• U-M will wrap up the regular season on Saturday (April 19) at the Varsity Tennis Center, hosting Michigan State at 1 p.m. Fliegner will be honored prior to the match as part of senior day. Â
