• Sophomore centerfielder Jenissa Conway has boasted six homers over the Wolverines' last five games and batted .657 (11-for-17) with eight runs scored and 13 RBI over the stretch, increasing her batting average by 41 points -- from .330 to .371.
• Conway led U-M at Oregon last weekend with four hits three runs and three RBI. She posted what was the game-tying homer in the sixth inning of the opener and go-ahead shot in the third inning for the second game. She now leads the Wolverines with 13 home balls on the season.
• Conway was named the Big Ten Player of the Week last week after going 7-for-8 in U-M's Saturday doubleheader against MSU, posting home runs -- two per game -- with five runs scored and 10 RBI. She posted career highs with four hits and six RBI in the day's second slate. The six RBI were the most for a Wolverine player since Keke Tholl similarly posted six against Northwestern in 2023.
• Putz leads Michigan with a .414 batting average this season and owns team bests with 37 runs, 46 hits, 10 doubles, 11 home runs and 34 RBI. Four Wolverine freshmen have led the team in hitting since 1995 -- Sara Griffin (.432, 1995), Amanda Chidester (.350, 2009), Sierra Romero (.379, 2013) and Lexie Blair (.406, 2019).
• Stephenson and Conway have boasted significant year-one to year-two improvements at the plate. Stephenson's .372 average is an 87-point jump over her rookie season average last year, while Conway's .371 average is a 135-improvement since last season. Through 36 games this time last year, Stephenson held just a .218 batting average and Conway was at .248.
• Langford also boasts a career-high .376 batting average, ranking second on the team and a 47-point jump from her 2023 average when she earned All-Big Ten second-team honors. She batted .283 last season. She has batted leadoff over the last 25 games and has reached base nearly half the time when leading off an inning (.477, 21-for-44).
• Sophomore RHP Erin Hoehn (14-2) posted a solid no-decision effort in the second Oregon game last Saturday, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts through 6.0 innings. She ranks third in the Big Ten and 10th nationally with her 14 wins already this season -- just one win away from her total (15) as a rookie last season.
• Michigan ranks second in the Big Ten and 13th nationally with nine shutout wins on the season. Senior RHP Lauren Derkowski owns four complete-game shutouts, leading the conference and ranking 12th in the country, and has combined for three more.
