ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's lacrosse team is set to embark on an international trip to Spain from June 2-8 with stops in Barcelona and Madrid. The week-long tour will allow the team to immerse in the local culture with walking tours, authentic Spanish meals and a day of international lacrosse at CF Nuevo Tomillar Stadium.
"We are excited to take the team on this international trip," head coach Kevin Conry said. "Having the opportunity to immerse ourselves in another culture while spreading the game that we love is something we do not take lightly. This is an experience our young men will remember for the rest of their lives."
In the Spanish capital city, the travel party will take a tour of the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid. The next morning will be spent exploring the city before a visit to the Las Ventas Bullfight Arena, including a stop at the bull ranch for a bull running demonstration and gaucho barbecue dinner.
The final day in Madrid will see the Wolverines suit up for games against regional national teams. The team will also participate in a skills clinic with other attendees and join the Spanish squads for a postgame meal.
