
Wolverines to Hit the Road for Northwestern

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 7-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (20-4, 11-2 Big Ten) hits the road for a midweek contest at Northwestern (8-15, 2-10 Big Ten) on Thursday (Feb. 12) at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The game is set for 8 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on Peacock.
Notes
• Michigan is 11-2 in Big Ten action this season, currently sitting tied for second in the conference standings. Michigan's 11-1 start in conference play before falling to UCLA set a new program standard. Michigan's 11 wins equal last season's total.
• Ashley Sofilkanich will see a former collegiate teammate in Northwestern's Grace Sullivan. The two played together at Bucknell during the 2023-24 season.
• Michigan moved to No. 7 in this week's Associated Press poll, marking the 12th straight week in the top 10 for the Wolverines. The Wolverines continue to hold steady at No. 6 in the NET rankings.
• Thursday's game features two of the top-eight scorers in the Big Ten. NU's Sullivan is second in the conference at 22.5 points per game, with Olivia Olson coming in at No. 8 with 18.8 points per game.
• The series between Michigan and Northwestern is tied at 42-42, behind a three-game U-M winning streak. The Wolverines took a 60-54 victory in Ann Arbor last season in the early Big Ten game in December.
• Michigan enters the contest as the top-scoring team in the conference, also ranking fifth nationally at 86.9 points per game. Northwestern is 17th in the conference in scoring defense at 73.8 points per game.
• Brooke Quarles Daniels reached the 1,000-point mark against Wisconsin (Jan. 11), putting up eight points, eight rebounds, six assists and five steals. She was just the 17th player this season to hit those numbers in a game, according to Her Hoop Stats. In Michigan's game against No. 5 Vanderbilt, she recorded seven points, 10 rebounds and four assists while holding Mikayla Blakes to 14 points. On the season, she has appeared in all 24 games while starting 20 times. She is averaging 6.4 points and 5.5 rebounds in 25.5 minutes per game. BQD leads U-M with 56 steals, racking up 11 games with at least three steals. She is third in the Big Ten in steals per game at 2.3.
• Michigan now has three 1,000-point scorers on its roster in Sofilkanich, Quarles Daniels and Olson.
• The Wolverines are 6-1 on the road this season, winning their last four road games during conference action.
• Michigan has four players scoring in double figures: sophomores Olson (18.8 ppg), Syla Swords (14.0 ppg), Mila Holloway (13.0 ppg) and Te'Yala Delfosse (10.2 ppg).
