
Wolverines Set to Continue B1G Action at Minnesota, Wisconsin

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 18-ranked University of Michigan women's tennis team (8-5, 5-1 Big Ten) will hit the road for a pair of matches this weekend, playing at Minnesota (10-10, 0-6 Big Ten) on Friday (March 27) at 4 p.m. CT and at Wisconsin (11-4, 4-2 Big Ten) on Sunday (March 29) at 10 a.m. CT.

• Michigan hits the road for a pair of matches this weekend, kicking off a four-match swing away from the Varsity Tennis Center. Â
• U-M vaulted back into the top-25 this week, checking in at No. 18 in the latest ITA team rankings.
• The Wolverines have won five straight matches after recording a pair of top-10 4-3 wins over No. 10 UCLA (March 21) and No. 8 USC (March 22).
• Michigan is one of six Big Ten teams with just one loss, joining USC, Washington, Maryland, Ohio State and Illinois at the top of the standings. The Big Ten schedule consists of 13 matches this season.
• U-M did not face either Wisconsin or Minnesota last season with the expansion of the Big Ten.
• The Wolverines are 36-15 all-time against the Gophers, recording a 6-1 win the last time the teams faced each other on April 14, 2024 in Minneapolis.
• Michigan is 36-23 all-time against the Badgers, taking a pair of matches from Wisconsin during the 2024 season.
• Michigan won both matches last weekend against No. 10 UCLA and No. 8 USC without the doubles point, the first time U-M has won without winning the first point of the match. U-M is 6-1 when winning the doubles point and 2-4 without it.
• Lily Jones became the first Wolverine to reach the 20-win mark in singles this year after recording a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 in Michigan's win over Penn (Jan. 24). She is 25-8 on the season, reaching 20 wins for the fourth straight season. She picked up the 100th win of her career during the NCAA Singles Championship and is now ninth all-time at Michigan with 110 singles wins. Â
• Reese Miller and Emily Sartz-Lunde each went 2-0 on the singles court last weekend, joining Jones in the 20-win club this season.
• Michigan has a pair of ranked singles players in Piper Charney (No. 20) and Jones (No. 21). Charney and Jones each earned ITA All-America honors in singles this past fall by reaching the round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Championship.
• Head coach Ronni Bernstein is in her 19th season as the head coach, holding a 559-202 overall coaching record. She is 389-108 as the Michigan head coach, leading Michigan to 12 Big Ten championships and six Big Ten tournament titles.
• Michigan will complete a four-match road swing next weekend, heading to Illinois (April 4) and Northwestern (April 5).
