CF John Toner (4-for-6) and catcher Joe Seestadt (3-for-4) paced the Western Michigan (10-8) attack. Toner's RBI single in the first inning was the "game-winning" hit and Seestadt had three RBI in the game. RHP Josh Clark (2-2) the second of three Bronco pitchers took the win.
Freshman RHP Brad McCloskey (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Brother Rice HS), the first of four Wolverine pitchers, suffered the loss in his first career start. Freshman LHP Rich Hill (Milton, Mass./Milton HS) allowed six runs in four innings, but settled down after allowing the first five batters he faced to reach and score. Hill fanned five in his four innings and now leads the team with 23 strikeouts in 16 innings of work.
Freshman RHP Tim Leveque (Northridge, Calif./Crespi HS) and junior LHP Nick Alexander (Alpena, Mich./Alpena HS), expected to start the first two games at Indiana this weekend (March 31-April 2), each pitched a scoreless inning to close out the game.
Freshman 3B Jordan Cantalamessa (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek HS) opened the Michigan scoring with his second homer of the year and fellow "Colorado Kid" Brock Koman (Pueblo, Colo./South HS) followed with a double and scored. Cantalamessa was 2-for-5 in the game with the homer and a double, while Koman was 2-for-3.
Freshman catcher Alex Coleman (Dallas, Texas/Lake Highlands HS) was 2-for-4 in the second start behind the plate. Senior catcher Stephen Lenick (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon HS) collected his first career hit with a pinch double in the eighth inning.
Michigan faces Bowling Green in a non-conference game Wednesday (March 29, 3 p.m.) at Fisher Stadium with sophomore RHP Bobby Korecky (Saline, Mich./Saline HS) as a probable starter on the mound. Korecky is 1-1 and has made three starts this season. The game will be broadcast by WTKA (1050 AM) and will be available via the Internet on the MGoBlue.com baseball front page.

Michigan's leading hitters after Tuesday include: freshman 3B Brock Koman (.355, 27-for-76), junior C David Parrish (.290, 20-for-69), senior OF Rob Bobeda (.284, 21-for-74), junior 2B/SS Scott Tousa (.265, 18-for-68) and senior IF Kevin Quinn (Midland, Mich./Midland HS) (.250, 10-for-40). Parrish is the leader in Big Ten play with a .333 average (5-for-15).
David Parrish (Yorba Linda, Calif./Esperanza HS) did not see action vs. WMU so his five-game hit streak remains intact.
Sophomore DH Dan Dombos (Kalamazoo, Mich./Mattawan HS) collected his first extra-base hit of the season with a double vs. WMU. Two of his three career doubles have been against his "hometown" Broncos.
