
Michigan to Return to Crisler Center for Game Against Akron

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 12-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (7-1) returns home for the first time in nearly two weeks, hosting Akron (3-2) Sunday afternoon (Dec. 5) at Crisler Center. The game is set for 2 p.m. and can be streamed via B1G+.
Wolverine Notes
• Prior to the game, members of the Kids Club will have the opportunity to participate in activities on the concourse with members of various Michigan women's athletic teams. In addition, the first 250 Kids Club members in attendance will receive a custom Girl Power poster. Kids Club Information
• Michigan dropped its first game of the season last time out, falling at No. 10 Louisville on Thursday (Dec. 2). Michigan was 4-1 following a loss last season.
• Akron marks the second of three Mid-American Conference opponents for the Wolverines during the non-conference portion of the season. U-M already recorded a 69-45 win at Central Michigan earlier this season (Nov. 20) and will host Eastern Michigan in the non-conference finale (Dec. 22).
• Michigan is back at Crisler Center for the first time in nearly two weeks, hosting Akron in a Sunday (Dec. 5) matinee. It is the first Sunday game of the year for the Wolverines, who are also 4-0 at home this season.
• The game marks Michigan's last non-conference game until Dec. 19 when the Wolverines travel to Connecticut to face Baylor in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase. U-M will play a pair of Big Ten contests following Sunday's game against the Zips, heading to Wisconsin to face the Badgers (Dec. 9) before returning to Crisler to host Minnesota (Dec. 12).
• Michigan has started the year stingy on the defensive end, allowing just 54.4 points per game to rank 41st nationally and second in the Big Ten in scoring defense. Michigan has only allowed more than 60 points twice this season, once in an overtime contest to IUPUI (Nov. 9) and at No. 10 Louisville (Dec. 2). Michigan held Oregon State to just 52 points and Mississippi State to just 48 points in the last two contests. Both teams entered the contests against Michigan averaging more than 80 points per contest.
• The Zips (3-2) are coming off a 67-60 win over Detroit Mercy in their last game (Nov. 29). Akron is averaging 65.2 points per game on 41.2 percent shooting while allowing 55.8 points per game on 33.6 percent shooting. Jordyn Lewis paces the Akron attack with 19.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. U-M won the last game against the Zips, an 80-71 decision at Akron in 2019.
