
U-M to Hit Road for Contests at Jacksonville, No. 19 Delaware

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 13-ranked University of Michigan mens' lacrosse team (3-1) will continue its spring break odyssey with a road contest against Jacksonville (1-2) on Tuesday (Feb. 27) at 7 p.m., and concludes the week with a tilt against No. 19 Delaware on Saturday (March 2) at noon at Tubby Raymond Stadium in Newark, Del.
Notes
• The Wolverines enter the week ranked No. 13 in the Inside Lacrosse Media poll and No. 11 in the USILA Coaches Poll.
• The Michigan attack unit of senior Michael Boehm (12 goals, 10 assists), junior Ryan Cohen (9g, 11a), and graduate student Justin Tiernan (18g, 2a) form one of the best trios in the country with 62 points through only four contests. Tiernan is second in the country in goals per game (4.50) and No. 5 in man-up goals with three.
• U-M is No. 3 in the country in scoring offense (17.50 goals/game), No. 1 in assists per game (12.25) and No. 1 in extra-man offense (78 percent). Michigan is also No. 3 in points per game (29.75).
• Sophomore Bo Lockwood has featured as a midfielder in the early season and leads the team with 15 assists and has six goals on only eight shots. He ranks No. 7 nationally with 3.75 helpers/game.
• Boehm enters the contest with 194 career points and is six away from becoming the second Wolverine to reach 200 points in a career (111g, 84a). He trails former teammate Josh Zawada for the all-time program record of 213 points.
• With five markers against Hobart (Feb. 17), Tiernan extends his goal-scoring streak to 16 games. The run dates back to his time at Lehigh prior to arriving at U-M. Cohen leads the team with an active point streak of 35 contests.
• Michigan has 70 goals through four games, the second most in any four-game stretch in program history (2021).
• Cohen is the lone Sunshine State native on the team, hailing from Boca Raton.
• Former volunteer assistant coach Mark Bieda (2023), the brother of current Wolverine offensive coordinator Scott Bieda, is on the Blue Hens coaching staff as an assistant coach.
• U-M and Jacksonville have faced off three times with all of the contests coming at Rock Stadium and JU holding a 2-1 lead. U-M was defeated in the 2012 and 2015 seasons while the win came on Feb. 23, 2019, by a score of 11-10.
• The series against the Blue Hens is level at 3-3. The Wolverines have won the last two matchups, taking the 2022 edition 18-8 in Ann Arbor and winning last season by a 16-12 score in Newark.
