Notes
• Michigan is playing one conference game before turning its attention back to non-conference action. U-M still has games against Akron and Oakland, along with an MLK Day contest against Vanderbilt in January, remaining before league action begins in earnest at the end of the month. U-M has won its last five conference openers after a 60-54 win last season against Northwestern at Crisler Center.
• Michigan has won six straight and nine of the last 12 in the series against Purdue. U-M's three losses in that span have been by a combined five points.
• The NCAA released the first NET rankings of the 2025-26 season this week, with Michigan coming in at No. 5 in the first edition. U-M is listed at No. 3 in the Dec. 4 edition of the rankings.
• U-M has been effective on the glass this season, holding a +14.9 margin by grabbing 45.9 rebounds and allowing just 31.0 per contest. The Wolverines rank first in the Big Ten and second nationally in offensive rebounds per game at 18.5. Michigan is rebounding nearly 50 percent of its misses on the offensive end, grabbing 49.0 of the boards available. U-M's .490 offensive rebound rate leads the Big Ten.
• Michigan leads the Big Ten in field-goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to shoot just 31.2 percent from the field over the first eight games of the season. U-M held UConn to 37.7 percent shooting from the floor in its 72-69 loss to the defending national champions, marking the first time since Feb. 11, 2024, that the Huskies failed to shoot at least 40 percent from the floor. U-M is fourth in the league in scoring defense at 52.4 points per game.
• Michigan is in the midst of a four-game homestand at Crisler that started with an 82-40 win over Central Michigan. U-M is 4-0 at Crisler this season, averaging 96.5 points per game on 53.5 percent shooting while allowing just 46.3 points per game on 31.4 percent shooting. The Wolverines are home for the next three games before heading to the Pacific Northwest after the holidays for games at Oregon (Dec. 29) and Washington (Jan. 1).
• Mila Holloway has elevated her game during her sophomore season, averaging 13.3 points per game on 53.2 percent shooting from the field. She has handed out 40 assists through four games, good for 5.0 per game. She has scored in double figures in five games, matching a career high with 21 points in the season opener against Canisius (Nov. 4). She is also grabbing 3.6 rebounds per game, highlighted by tying a career high with seven against No. 18 Notre Dame (Nov. 15).
• Olivia Olson has not missed a beat after being named the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Year by the coaches last season, upping her scoring to 17.3 points per game on 46.6 percent shooting from the floor. She has scored in double figures in all eight games this season, highlighted by a 20-point, six-rebound performance against No. 18 Notre Dame. She is ninth in the Big Ten in scoring as one of nine players averaging at least 17.0 points per game. She recorded an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double against UConn (Nov. 21) and a 21-point, 11-rebound performance against Central Michigan (Dec. 3) to move her career total to three double-doubles.
