
Coach Mo Classic in Florida on Tap Next for Wolverines

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's golf team will head back to Florida to compete in the Coach Mo Classic on Monday and Tuesday (March 30-31) at St. Johns Golf & Country Club in St. Augustine. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will feature a 16-team field competing on a par-72 course that measures 6,450 yards.

• Co-hosted by Furman and North Florida, the Coach Mo Classic honors Monique Gesualdi, a respected PGA and LPGA Director of Instruction at St. Johns Golf and Country Club. Known for her holistic coaching style, she earned 2025 PGA North Florida Youth Development Coach of the Year honors and hosts the Coach Mo Golf Show.
• The Wolverines will compete in a strong 16-team field featuring Furman, North Florida, Abilene Christian, Augusta, Cal State Bakersfield, Central Florida, Chattanooga, Daytona State, Flagler, Florida International, Florida State, Georgia Southern, Illinois, Purdue and St. Thomas.
• Michigan brings five starters and an individual to Augustine, as senior Lauren Sung, senior Mara Janess, freshman Reese Ng, freshman Jaymie Ng and sophomore Thomasine Bartholdson lead the Wolverines' lineup. Senior Sydney Sung will compete as Michigan's individual.
• In the race for the team scoring lead, Lauren Sung paces Michigan with a 72.90 stroke average. Freshman Vanessa Zhang, sidelined this spring due to injury, follows at 73.09, with Janess ranking third at 73.75. As a team, the Wolverines are averaging 74.58 per round.
• Lauren Sung has led the Wolverines in four of seven events this season and owns a team-best 72.90 average. She has recorded five rounds under par, including matching 68s (3-under) in rounds two and three of the Wolverine Invitational. Sung has also posted two sub-par 54-hole performances, highlighted by a career-best 209 (-4) at the Wolverine Invitational, shaving four strokes off her previous best.
• Reese Ng has been a constant for the Wolverines, joining Lauren Sung as one of only two players to start all seven events this season. The freshman is averaging 74.75 and has been one of Michigan's most consistent performers, averaging 223.00 over 54 holes. She fired a career-low 70 (2-under) in the second round of the Illini Women's Invitational and posted a career-best 221 (73-74-74) at the Puerto Rico Classic.
• Jaymie Ng is set for her second start after breaking into the lineup at Florida's Gators Invitational, where she tied for 41st. She has been consistent with three straight 54-hole totals of 223 and carries a 74.33 average. Highlighting her recent play, Ng fired a closing 69 (3-under) at the Spartan Suncoast Invitational for her first sub-70 round.
• The Wolverine Invitational provided a preview of the U-M Golf Course, which will serve as one of six NCAA regional sites in May -- the second time in four years under head coach Jan Dowling. In her 13 seasons at the helm, Dowling has guided Michigan to eight NCAA postseason appearances, including four trips to the NCAA Finals.
